海鸥与巷燕

昔者，有一片苍穹，其间群鸟飞翔，有海鸥与巷燕。海鸥者，翔于浩渺之海，追逐涛涛之澜，翻飞于波澜之巅。其翅羽洁白如雪，嘴尖目明，乘风翱翔，自由自在。而巷燕者，则居于尘世之间，穿梭于巷陌之间，窥探人间百态，俯瞰尘世繁华。其羽毛灰暗，嘴短目快，巧于穿梭，善于觅食。

海鸥与巷燕，各有所好。海鸥爱波涛之声，巷燕恋尘世之味。然而，偶有一日，海鸥迷失于乌云之中，不辨东西；巷燕受累于风尘之中，难觅归路。遇此情形，海鸥则思念蓝天碧海，渴望自由翱翔；巷燕则忆及巢穴幽谷，盼望归家觅食。遂相遇于空中，相顾而言曰：“天地之间，虽有差异，然皆可自由飞翔，各得其所。”遂相约而行，海鸥引巷燕飞越云霄，巷燕引海鸥穿梭巷陌。

自此以后，海鸥得以翱翔于天空之上，巷燕得以觅食于人间之间。二者虽不同于生态，却相辅相成，互相扶持。如此，海鸥与巷燕，共同谱写了一曲自由与和谐之歌，留存于人间万世。

译文

Seagulls and City Swallows

Once upon a time, under the vast sky, there were birds soaring, including seagulls and city swallows. Seagulls, flying over the vast sea, chasing the surging waves, soaring at the crest of the waves. Their feathers were as white as snow, with sharp beaks and keen eyes, gliding freely in the wind. Meanwhile, city swallows lived amidst the hustle and bustle of the earthly realm, darting through alleys and lanes, observing the myriad of human affairs, and overlooking the bustling world. Their feathers were grayish, with short beaks and quick eyes, adept at maneuvering and skilled at foraging.

Seagulls and city swallows had their own preferences. Seagulls loved the sound of the waves, while city swallows enjoyed the taste of the earthly realm. However, on one occasion, a seagull became lost in the dark clouds, unable to distinguish directions; a city swallow was overwhelmed by the dust and wind, struggling to find its way home. Faced with this situation, the seagull yearned for the blue sky and sea, longing to soar freely; the city swallow remembered its nest in the secluded valley, hoping to return home and find food. They met in the sky, looked at each other, and said, "Between heaven and earth, although there are differences, we can all soar freely and find our place." Thus, they made a pact and flew together – the seagull guiding the city swallow across the clouds, and the city swallow leading the seagull through the alleys.

Since then, the seagull soared high in the sky, while the city swallow found sustenance amidst humanity. Though different in habitat, they complemented each other, supporting one another. Thus, seagulls and city swallows jointly composed a song of freedom and harmony, leaving it for posterity to cherish.
